“Cornia” Winery

The construction of the winery center brings the formal features of the Tuscan farmhouse back to life.  The wine-making and aging rooms, fully controlled by computerized technology, are located underground to allow temperature control and relative humidity. The uneven chorography of the natural land layers have become the design bearing planes of underground building levels, so that the winemaking process may occur by gravity flow.

The use of biocompatible materials, exposed stonework, the types of roofing selected and recycled roofing material have contributed to contain the footprint of the rooms above ground designated as reception area.
